Network IP Addressing

On the APOS terminal, we will need to go to the Android Settings. To access the Android Settings, perform the following steps.

1) In GoPOS, log in as Manager. Then Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Android Desktop. Then swipe up on the desktop to reveal the Launcher3 apps grid. From here, tap the Settings icon.

NOTE: If you are running the Optima GoPOS software older than version A230909 where you don't see the Android Desktop option, perform the following steps. Otherwise, proceed to step 2.

  1. Log in as Manager, then go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Android Bars.
  2. From the top edge of the screen, swipe down to reveal the Status Bar. You may need to swipe twice to fully reveal the status bar, showing the gear icon near the top right corner of the status bar.
  3. Tap on the gear icon to show the Android Settings.

2) In Android Settings, we will need to configure the IP Address of the APOS terminal. If the APOS terminals are connected through Ethernet, proceed to the Ethernet IP Settings. If the APOS terminals are connected through Wi-Fi, proceed to the Wi-Fi IP Settings.

IMPORTANT: If you are connecting an APOS to Ethernet, please ensure that Wi-Fi is turned off. If you are connecting an APOS to Wi-Fi, please ensure that no Ethernet cable is plugged into the back of the APOS terminal.

Ethernet IP Settings

NOTE: This example will use the APOS-05 running Android version 7. The steps will be similar to the other APOS models, including the APOS-04 running Android 8.

  1. In the Android Settings under the Wireless & networks section, tap on More.
  2. Next, select Ethernet.
  3. At the bottom of the list, select Ethernet IP mode, then select Static.
  4. From this screen, enter the network information for the APOS terminal. Tap Connect once completed.

The IP address of the APOS terminal is now set to static through Ethernet.

Wi-Fi IP Settings

NOTE: This example will use the APOS-05 running Android version 7. The steps will be similar to the other APOS models, including the APOS-04 running Android 8, and APOS-01 running Android 10.

  1. In the Android Settings under the Wireless & networks section, tap on Wi-Fi.
  2. Next, ensure that the Wi-Fi switch is turned on, and then after a moment, the listed SSIDs will populate the list.
  3. Select the SSID you want to connect by tapping and holding the SSID. Then select Connect to network.
  4. Next, select the Static option under IP Settings. Enter the SSID passphrase, and then enter the IP address information. Once the information is entered, tap on Connect. You will then see under the SSID the status of the connection. If set up correctly, you should see a Connected indication underneath the SSID.

You have now set the APOS terminal with a static IP address.

For the changes to take full effect, please reboot the APOS terminal by pressing and holding the power button, then select Reboot.
