GoPOS
Parameters and Setup
All APOS models (with the exception of the APOS-01) come preinstalled with the DisplayLink Presenter driver, which is used to extend the display to the EPD series pole displays. However, if you do not have the DisplayLink Presenter driver installed, please contact Optima Support.
When the EPD pole display is unboxed and assembled, the pole display can be plugged in behind the APOS to an available USB-A port. Once plugged in, the DisplayLink Presenter app will detect a new USB device and the APOS will display a prompt.
Select Use by default for this USB device, and then tap OK. Another window will then pop up.
Select Don't show again, and then select Start Now.
Start the Optima GoPOS app and you should see the customer display side shown with half the screen displaying the default Optima GoPOS logo while you're in GoPOS. However, we will now need to set up the configuration of the external pole display in GoPOS.
In GoPOS, from the Register screen, tap on Home, then Menu > Settings > Hardware.
Next, tap on Add New Hardware, then select Customer Display in the Select Hardware Type window, then tap on Continue, and then enter the name of the new customer display hardware entry in the Name caption field.
NOTE: If you are wanting to use the pole display rather than the built-in customer display with any of the APOS models (with exception to the APOS-01 and APOS-05L), tap and hold the existing Customer Display entry in Hardware Settings.
Next, in the Model drop down menu, select Internal 10-inch screen. In the Connection drop down menu, select either USB or Internal. In our example, Internal is selected. Both Connection options will work.
Once configured, tap Save, and then tap Back, then Back again to the Home Screen. Then verify and test the pole display by testing a sale.
NOTE: If no items are being displayed during a sale, please check the Print On options in either Departments or Items (if Setting 1 is enabled) in GoPOS, and verify that the Customer Display option is turned on.
PCProg
Parameters and Setup
If you are using PCProg to add a new pole display, the process is very similar.
In PCProg, assuming you have Received the APOS program from either the APOS or from a previously saved file, select Hardware, then tap on Insert (+) at the bottom left hand corner of the Hardware Maintenance window. In the Caption field, enter the name of the new Customer Display hardware entry. In the Hardware Type, select Customer Display.
NOTE: If you are wanting to use the pole display rather than the built-in customer display with any of the APOS models (with exception to the APOS-01 and APOS-05L), highlight the existing Customer Display entry in Hardware Maintenance.
Next, in the Model drop down menu, select Internal 10-inch Screen. In Connection Type, select Internal.
Once the configuration has been made, Save, and close the window. Then Send the program data to the APOS terminal and verify the new programming changes made.
NOTE: If no items are being displayed during a sale, please check the Print On options in either Departments or Items (if Setting 1 is enabled) in GoPOS, and verify that the Customer Display option is turned on. In PCProg, check that the Customer Display is enabled in either Departments or Products (if Setting 1 is enabled) in PCProg, then Send the programming data to the APOS terminal.
