How do I clear sales data and reset the counters back to zero?

Clearing sales data and counters back to zero is used if prior testing and programming has been completed, and resetting and clearing any test transactions are needed prior to deploying the APOS terminal at customer site.

To clear sales data and reset all counters back to zero, there are two methods.

Method 1

Perform the following steps:

How to back up existing program data onto the APOS (Not PCProg) and how to restore it?

IMPORTANT: Performing the Program Restore function (starting at Step 4 below) with the option of clearing the sales data and counters will fully clear the transaction and reports data. Once they are cleared, they cannot be recovered.

1. From the Optima GoPOS Home Screen, select Menu > Settings > Program Backup

2. By default, you will be taken to the Downloads folder of the internal storage drive of the APOS. The default file to be saved is 'gopos-pbackup.op' which saves all programming data, but not including transaction and reports data. You can either save in the current directory you are in, or if you have a USB drive, you can save the file in that drive.

3. GoPOS will then prompt to wait while the Program Backup is being performed. Another prompt will display if the program backup is successful.

4. Once the program backup is successful, you will then need to perform the Program Restore, which is the last option below Program Backup (Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Program Restore).

5. When you select Program Restore, a window will pop up with two options. Select Clear all sales data and counters, and then select Yes to continue, shown below.

IMPORTANT: Performing the Program Restore function with the option of clearing the sales data and counters will fully clear the transaction and reports data. Once they are cleared, they cannot be recovered.

6. You will then be taken to the same folder you saved the Program Backup file to earlier. Tap on the file and the gopos-pbackup.op file will be restored, alongside the counters being reset to zero, and any sales data and reports will be erased.

7. During the restore process, a prompt will be shown that the Program Restore is being performed. Another prompt will display if the restore is successful.

8. Once successful, the GoPOS software's counters and reports data have been reset.

Method 2

1. From the Home Screen, select Menu > Settings > Soft Reset.

2. A window will pop up with three options and a warning prompt. With each selection, they will come with a specific warning about those functions. Select All Terminal Data.

3. Select Continue, and after a moment, a prompt will appear stating that "all terminal data has cleared" showing near the bottom of the screen.
